Anna and Logan Yang: The Origins of Our Recipe Book

Hello! My name is Anna, and I'm the creator of What You Want to Eat. This whole idea for a website came from me bingeing food recipe videos on Instagram. My saved list was filled with recipes I wanted to try, and it was hard to remember which one's I've recreated before and which ones I had yet to do. While I loved watching each creator's content and recreating their recipe, there were times where I tweaked the recipe and just hoped I would remember it the next time I made it. Thus, this website idea was born: it is a place where I can share the recipes I've tweaked, one's I've created, and help my friends learn how to cook as well (some have been anxiously awaiting me website for some time!)

I met my husband Logan in May 2024. We are two foodies who love to cook and try out different restaurants and dishes. While we were dating, we would cook a lot, basically every day during the summer months. I was amazed at how creative he was at his spices and marinades, how spontaneous he could be with seasoning his food. Finding the right spices to go with what dish has always been a bit tricky for me, so I was happy to find a guy that possessed a skill I didn't have! Every time we had to marinate chicken, or create a dipping sauce, he says "It's just a hunch, but it seems like certain ingredients create certain flavor profiles," shrugging me off as if this was a basic skill.

(I think in another life, he would be an amazing professional chef, but he is a Mechanical Engineer, oh well.) I would always tell him after dinner, "you should write down what you put in that sauce, we can use it for next time!" So what once was a Google Keep note of all his sauces and has now become part of this recipe book too. I am happy that he can finally show off his cooking prowess with the world!

I hope you find exactly what you're craving for here, or find something new worth trying! What do you want to eat? The answer is just a few clicks away~

We love going on picnics together when the weather is warm~!

Logan ran 3.14 miles in a PI (pie) day race. His favorite pie is ice-cream pie. I love a good classic apple pie!

We also get excited about trying new restaurants: Don Joaquin's Tacos in Provo is a 4/5! (Their horchata is a 5/5)
